I believe that democrats should work to petition the state legislatures to vote for a constitutional convention for the purpose of removing Bush and Cheney.
This is the letter I sent:
Enough is enough!
Tax cuts for the rich, the war in Iraq, the unending vacations, the outsourcing of millions of jobs, Abu Gharib, Guantanamo, unexplained deaths at Bagram, incessant lying, the failure to evacuate New Orleans before the hurricane, the delayed response after the hurricane, the price of gas. Enough is enough! It's time to get rid of Bush and Cheney. They are the most unchristian men who've ever led this country.
The best way for all of us to help the victims of Katrina is to contact our state legislators. We should demand that they vote for a federal constitutional convention. If they don't vote for the convention, then we should start recall petitions to remove them from office. We need two thirds of the states to get one. The sole purpose of the convention would be for the immediate removal of Bush and Cheney, the appointment of an interim president, and the calling for national elections within 30 days. At the same time, we should call for national elections for every member of the House and Senate. It can be done! Our government is not the property of rightwing republican millionaires. Let's take our country back!

I sent this letter to the editor to several newspapers. None of them published it. One editor told me "As much as I like your letter, I would never print it. Your letter crosses the line. There is a range of debate allowed. There are 2 problems with your letter. Your proposal of a constitutional convention is unpatriotic. This idea should never be allowed to rear its head.
"Worse, you attack millionaires. You've touched the most holy of topics. In America, you are not allowed to EVER criticise millionaires. They are sacred. No newspaper in the country would ever print your letter."
The majority of the people in this country believe in what the democrats believe. Most people are against the war. Most people want the war to end. Most people disapprove of the job Bush is doing. Most people believe the country is on the wrong track.
We don't have to wait until 2008 or 2006 to remove Bush and Cheney. We can do it now.
Some will argue that it's too difficult to get 34 state legislatures to call for a convention. I have an answer. It doesn't matter.
Even if it isn't possible to get 34 state legislatures, it stands to reason that if the majority wants to get rid of Bush, then we can get a good number of state legislatures. Certainly, the 19 blue states should vote for a convention. If we can't get 34 states, getting a good number of them is a loud public statement of opposition to Bush and his policies. It puts pressure on Congress to act to start impeachment proceedings. It gives the democrats in Congress a strong base so they can start to fight Bush and the republicans as hard as they can. It would bring pressure on the democrats in the Senate to slow down this government to the point where it would halt and then hopefully collapse. What we should demand is open free democratic elections. We should say "We don't want to wait. We want elections now!"
Once we got the ball rolling, I believe it would be possible to get 34 states. About 60 percent of the people oppose Bush. If people all over the country started recall elections, legislators who oppose a convention could be forced from office. They could be replaced by our people. I believe it's possible. Why?
The Congress in Washington owes debts to wealthy special interests who've bought many of them with legalized bribes called campaign contributions. The state legislatures have gone unnoticed to some extent by the large wealthy donors. I believe the legislatures offer more promise than the Congress in Washington.
I believe it's possible.
