What can you do? If you live in one of these districts, you should consider running. America NEEDS you and it is the right thing to do. If not, try try try to think of a friend or colleague whom you could convince. It should be our goal to cut the number of unopposed GooPers in half in the next six months. We can do it.
I wish I could run, but my NYC district has a wonderful congresswoman named Nydia Velasquez who will be in the house for many years. I am going to cross-reference a map of congressional districts with my brain's list of friends and try to think of at least one potential candidate. If we all think of one person, I know we can improve our situation!
What can one person do? Plenty. Run, convince someone you know to run, or call someone prominent in your district whom you don't know and convince them to run. Look how many spots are available in CA and FL! I know there are some Kossacks in these districts.
We can do this. Even if we lose these races, we will lay the groundwork for future victories.
Update: Okay there are a few districts mentioned which I am unsure about. People have mentioned below that IN-4, NY-13, VA-5, TX-24, TX-31, and TX-32 should be taken off the list due to impending announcements by Dems in those districts. I will leave them on for now, but please post any further info you have.
AND people have inquired below about CA-41, NM-2, NY-24, MS-1, and OK-5. We need to know if there are definitely no candidates or impending candidate announcements in these districts, and I will add them on the list.
Update2: The following districts are listed as having no Dem candidate by Act Blue's website AR-3, AZ-3,8, GA-1,8,10, CA-21,41, CO-6, IA-5, ID-2,IN-3, IL-18, KY-1,2,3,4,5, LA-4,5,6,7, MI-2,3,7,8 MN-3, MO-6, MS-1,3, NC-5, NJ-3,4,11, NM-2, NV-3, NY 3,20,25, OR-2, TN 3,9, TX-3,6,8,26, NV-2 -- let me know if any of these are mistakes.
Took off IL-13, NC-9, TX-31, MI-2,7, NV-2, NY 20,25, TN-3, ID-2, IN-4, KY 1,2,3, AZ-3,8, NV-3, GA-1, IA-5, IN-3, VA-5, TX-3,6, TN-9
This brings the count to 101! That can't be right, so help me remove the wrong ones from the list here
