Something strange is going on at the Defense of Christmas News Channel.

Go to the Fox News Online Store here:

http://tinyurl.com/...

Now scroll down. Notice anything?

That's right. A No Spin Zone Holiday Ornament for your Holiday Tree. "Put your holiday tree in the No Spin Zone!"

If you have any winger relatives all fired up about how liberals are ruining Christmas, make sure to send them the link. And don't forget to mention how those liberal Commies at Fox News are part of the conspiracy against Christians.

Gives a little more credence to the folks at People for the American Way who claim all this "Christmas/Happy Holidays" nonsense is just to get gullible wingers riled up, don't it?

Wishing you a pleasant holiday season,

Alderaan

  •  who's minding the store? (none / 0)

This is so good I can hardly believe it's true!  This isn't just another tiresome "Why does X hate America?" attempt at irony, but the real thing.

admitted that the WH card says "Happy holidays"

The Justice Department is no longer a credible defender of the rule of law or the Constitution.

  •  Where's Mike Stark? (none / 0)

I think that's his name--the guy who posts his calls to right wing radio shows. This is too good. He needs to call O'Reilly and pose as a disappointed wingnut who just realized O'Reilly hates Christmas.

    Dear Bill,

    Why does Fox hate Christmas?

I just fired off an email with that very subject line.  lmao.

Here's the inner workings of my email, minus the copied picture of the "holiday ornaments" they have for sale on the FOX site:

As I discovered below, I can no longer frequent the FOX site or any of it's affiliates until they correct this great wrong done to Christians.  "Holiday ornaments" for "Holiday trees"????  I'm shocked and awed and extremely dismayed that FOX chooses to disrespect the Christian holiday in such a manner.  How are we to celebrate properly if the retail outlets in which we buy these necessities of the season are called by a generic name?  How can we, as good Christians, in good faith, let our beliefs be known to our Lord, and to other Christians, if we are forced to buy the same ornaments we have bought for years but are now suddenly simply called "holiday" decorations?  How will our Lord God know we are celebrating the birth of his son if retail stores trying to make as much money as possible strip us of the joy of buying a "Christmas" tree?   How will he be able to see into our hearts without all of the window dressings being called by their proper names? What next?  Will we be stripped of our sweaters bearing Saint Nick?  Oh, the pain of it all.

Apparently, it's ok to stifle assent. Free speech is only free if you disagree. Huh. I did not know that.

I just noticed that I screwed up this sentence:

How are we to celebrate properly if the retail outlets in which we buy these necessities of the season are called by a generic name?

Meant to say, "......if the retail outlets in which we buy these necessities of the season call them by a generic name?"

note to self.  Proofread before you send....

        •  good one! for yucks, I fired off one (none / 1)

          too:

          Bill,

To answer your poll, No, I will not shop at stores that do not say Merry Christmas -- stores such as

The Fox News Shop which features 'Holiday' ornaments for 'Holiday' trees, including the 'No Spin Zone' "Holiday" ornament -- sheesh, Bill, what's up with that? Talking the talk, but not walking the walk?

For Shame, Bill, and for shame, Fox News!

  •  I long for the good old days (none / 1)

That is hilarious! I'm not even religious but, hell, we don't put up a holiday tree--that's ridiculous!

There's a reason Democrats won massively the last two cycles, and it wasn't because people were desperate for "bipartisanship". --kos

  •  This, too is classic. (none / 0)

I used to see this in front of someone's door (serious!) in the town where I used to live. The idea of the No Spin Doormat is hilarious to me; that his fans and everyone they know walk on Bill O'Reilly every day.
