President Carter was just interviewed on Al Frankin's Air America show. Love them both. Sorry I couldn't get this up while the interview was live.
But, there's lots more going on in political talk radio for us to get excited about. Some numbers below.
Talk radio audience size estimates
Most of the following chart of the top radio talk hosts audience size appeared in the print edition of the October 2005 issue of TALKERS MAGAZINE. The numbers in parentheses are from a screen capture of a page from the Spring issue of Talkers Magazine-no link found to the original page. Talkers uses a cut off of one million for inclusion in their survey results.
Part of the good news is that Rush continues to lose audience. According to Talkers Magazine, he lost another million listeners in the last six months of their survey. What's really astounding is that he's apparently lost more than six million of the listeners he had before his drug problem surfaced.
And more importantly is that liberal and progressive radio talk show hosts have entered the mainstream: Ed Schultz, Al Frankin, and Stephanie Miller are now on the Talkers's chart.
