In June of 1963, President Kennedy said, "What kind of a peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by America's weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave, or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time."
Today, the Republicans control all three branches of our government. With-in the Republican Party, a small group of radical, right wing empire builders, using the 9/11 mass murder as cover, took over the military-foriegn policy apparatus of our government. We have come to know these people as "neo-cons". Their ideology is pure Pax Americana, with "terrorism" as the new foreign threat, and oil the ultimate pirates booty. The Cold War is dead. Long live the Global War on Terror.
Howard Dean said we cannot "win this war". The question is which war?
Bush and his cabal wanted to go to war before they were ever in office. This is not conspiracy blather ... this was one of the main policies pursued by PNAC. Their desire to topple Iraq is documented. We also know Bush wanted "revenge" on Sadam for his alleged attempt to assassinate Bush's dad.
We also know from insiders that Bush met with military leaders, before his inaguration, to make his interest in overthrowing Sadam known to them. We also know Bush and his neo-con sisters and brothers had absolutely no interest in Al Qaeda and Osama before 9/11.
Then 9/11 happened.
From that moment on, Bush and the Pax Americana crowd began plotting to topple Sadam. Intelligence was fixed around the policy. Dissenters were dismissed or tared and feathered.
The cherry picking operation in the Pentagon fed the appropriate information to the CIA, which had been "softened up" by Cheney. Eventually, some of the disinformation made it's way into the speeches given by Bush, Rice and Powell. The WHIG used the supple media to get the sheeple ready for an unnecessary war.
The mistake the neo-cons made was picking a rationale for war that has proven to be bogus ... and getting caught! There were no stockpiles of chemical or biological weapons. Worse, Iraq hadn't reconstituted its nuclear weapons program.
And as bas as the failure to find wmd was for the neo-con cabal, the failure to find a link between Iraq and Al Qaeda, and Iraq and 9/11 was disastrous.
With all of the public reasons for the pre-emptive war up in smoke, the Pax Americana, Rome wanna bees had no justification left for their war for oil and domination of the middle east.
That is why they have to sell the "idea" of freedom and democracy in Iraq even as they pass legislation to stiffle freedom and democracy at home. It is a complete pipe dream. There will be no democracy in Iraq, because the constitution, as written, almost guarantees the nation will split into three pieces. The federal government will not be strong enough to keep the pieces together. The kurds have their oil in the north, and the Shites have theirs in the south. The Sunnis have a lot of sand, anger and militray expertise ... not to mention a lot of weapons and ammunition.
Howard Dean said we cannot win this war. We can't. We would need 500,000 trops, a draft, and a commitment to spend a generation putting the place back together again.
But we never intended to win this war. The only war we intended to win was the war for oil. That war we will win, no matter how long it takes, and no matter how much it cots in lives and money. That is why we went to war (as well as keeping a footprinnt in the area with 4 massive permanent bases) to secure the oil in Saudi Arabia, and eventually, to Pax Americana the oil in evil Iran.
Howard Dean said we cannot win the war. When he says that, he means we can't win the war to make America and the rest of the civilized world safer.
Why can't we win that war? Because we have barely even begun to fight it. And when we begin that war in earnest, it will be much more difficult to win because we started a pre-emptive war in Iraq based on lies to cover our neo-cons leaders Pax Americana agenda. And the rest of the world knows it!
Howard Dean told the hard truth. Please support his honesty.
