Anyway, to reiterate, I need some advice.
I am now finished with my third semester of community college. The program I am currently enrolled in is a general studies curriculum, with the intention of eventually declaring a major in business since I had originally wanted to go into accounting. However, after a less-than-perfect experience in Accounting 101, I've quickly gotten the impression that this isn't going to work out.
What I want to do now is eventually declare myself a history major, which I intend to do when I apply for the University of Maryland next year (hopefully next year). I like history. It's what I'm good at.
However, there is a problem. I don't know what career options are available for people with history degrees. I want to be sure that there are good jobs out there that I can get with that piece of paper.
So basically, the question is this. What kind of careers would be available to guys like me? And if you or someone you know has a history degree, what do you/they do for a living? I could Google all of this, but I find that answers from real people are much more reliable.
