How do you wall in paradise? If this is truly the most free, the most advanced, the most wealthy, and just the damn best country ever, as we never tire of reminding ourselves, can we place such restrictions on it? How do you make security permanent and unbreachable? How do you rid the world of your enemy? Can you do these things and still be civilized? Is it not true, as no less than Einstein said, that you cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war?
Who decides who has access to paradise? I do not want to be forever ringed with minefields and cameras. The crazies are turning the country into one giant Fortress. And for all their wizardry, they still can't protect us anyway. And they want us to keep our heads down, because Loose Lips Sink Ships.
Well, fuck them. I want my Constitution back. I liked it just fine the way it was before they got too big for their britches.
