Today, the Washington Post published an
article reading:
For President Bush, the budget sent to Congress last week outlines a painful path to meeting his promise to bring down the federal budget deficit by the time he leaves office in 2009. But for the senators and governors already jockeying to succeed him, the numbers released in recent days add up to a budgetary landmine that could blow up just as the next president moves into the Oval Office.
Plus, "our" president just proposed $82 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan today. So you better start hoarding that extra cash because once Bush leaves, the taxes are going up. Of course, in 2008, a Democrat will win (I pray for it everyday), they will be forced by the budget situation to raise taxes to save our nation from an implosion. Then, Rush and the other propaganda minions will slap that Dem as a "taxer and spender". I can hear it now. Damn, what a quagmire.
