After making the decision to go ahead with the execution of
Tookie Williams, Governor Schwarzenegger faced criticism from many sources. One of these sources was his hometown in Austria, Graz. There was a petition circulated to rename a stadium that had been named after Schwarzenegger in Graz.

He has responded by telling the officials in Graz that they may no longer use his name in promotions, and he also returned a "ring of honor" that the city had given him in 1999.
The response from Graz should be interesting. Note, this news source is Australian. Evidently this execution caused somewhat of an international incident. Arnold does go on tours overseas to promote California businesses and tourism, last month he had a well publicized tour to China. Just a note that there may be additional repercussions.
