I almost welcome this development, it means that this story will be in the news for much longer. Personally I hope the leaker steps up to the plate and says. This program is illegal I would like whistlerblower status please (though that can be hard to get after a leak)
It's on the Breaking portion of MSNBC, more to come I'm sure.
Lets make sure Bush can't make the issue the leak itself.
Story is up.
What Democrats Need to say today:
1.Why the difference in speed of Justice Department investigations with Plame and spygate.
2. This illegal program should be investigated first. The leaker may have been doing his civic duty.
3.Justice has no credability, it appears they have become an arm of a corrupt president rather then the representatives of the American People.
4. Don't even talk about the leak itself.....or ask why the investigation didn't happen when the Admistration learned of the leak last year!!!!!...more on this below.
update: White house to comment at 12:30pm aparently if Freerepublic is right.....
.Key point mention in the comments below, Hammer them on this, the leak is the "crime" (aka whistleblowing in the real world) not the story therefore in anyone's eyes Dem or Republican why didn't they start the investigation a year ago.
If the leak is so dangerous to America's safety why did they leave a leaker in place for a year, so they could leak again? The simple answer is that only care about POLITICS not SAFETY!
Personally I find it almost comical that they would chase down this leak so hard after being forced to investigate the Plame affair.
I think this will backfire on Bush.
I think that all Democrats should be calling for an investigation into the program itself before we investigate how this program came to light. ALso what are the legal implications.....can Bush now say I can't comment on an ongoing investigation?
