Thanks to

Tom Delay recently took a trip on Fox News Sunday. He traveled from Texas to DC to Texas. He claimed the cost (reimbursed by Fox) for nearly $14,000. Please tell me how a 2-day WEEKEND trip by Tom Delay from Texas to DC to Texas is "valued" at nearly $14,000?
More after the flip...
I've been traveling for business for about 10 years. The most expensive trip I've taken was a mid-week Boston to London and Back over four days. The total cost for that trip (including hotels, meals, taxies etc) was about $3,500. Even if I had gotten my client to pay for first class seats, I would have spent less than $7,000.
At the bottom of the report (pdf) you'll note Tom's signature indicating that he "did not create the appearance that I am using public office for private gain" Please. If this isn't fraud, what is?
