Bolton is counterproductive to everyone's interest, to the world's interest, to the nation's interest, to the interest of the international community. He's even counterproductive to Bush's interests and those of the GOP. He is an unmitigated disaster, and the evidence is abundant. Instead of appoint Bolton to the U.N., Bush should probably stop going through the motions--simply withdraw from the U.N. and tell them to take their HQ somewhere else until the end of his Presidency. Actually, they would probably be better off with a headquarters somewhere like Geneva or Brussels or Maastricht anyways. Why should Bush pretend to even be a part of the U.N. when he openly dispises the organization?
The U.N. would be better off with the U.S. kicked out for the remainder of the Bush Presidency. This is actually what will happen---the U.S. and Bolton will be shunned until a more sensible and cooperative leader takes over in the U.S.
