Google News searches for "Dick Cheney" show exactly two story themes about him from today's news:
- Cheney will make a trip to Canada to learn about tar sands, the so-far unusable wave of the future for the hydrocarbon set. He'll be attending the conference not in wet-liberal-dreamland Ottawa but in cozy, conservative Alberta, where the Wyoming cowboy will fit right in.
- Cheney will make a trip to Missouri to host a fundraiser for Jim Talent. Talent is deep enough in the mud that it will actually help him to associate with the Bush Administration.
The rest of the stories are about the possibility of him getting the GOP endorsement in '08 (the other wet liberal dream), but those stories are a week and a half old.
So does he care about New Orleans? Wouldn't know. Couldn't know. Why, exactly, did the people of Louisiana give him their electoral votes?
UPDATE: Josh Marshall asks the very same question, one day later. Well, where is he?
