I wrote the following to David Broder. His latest column left me shaking with fury.
Shame on you for writing such sycophantic horse-manure about Hurricane Katrina and the "opportunities" it affords the President. There is ample evidence that the handling of this disaster was botched from the start, and the Department of Homeland Security has revealed itself to be virtually worthless in the face of catastrophe. Your own paper is describing the administration's efforts to shift the blame to local officials (funny how the buck never stops with the President), and you have the umitigated audacity to describe the chaos, death and destruction in New Orleans is "an advantageous setting" for the President.
Have you no humanity?
