One evening as the sun went down and the jungle fire was burning
Down the track came a True Blue hiking and he said boys I'm not turning
I'm headin' for a land that's far away beside the crystal fountains
So come with me we'll go and see the Democratic Mountains
In the Democratic Mountains there's a land that's fair and bright
Where there no such things as Bushes and the party lasts all night
Where the jail cells are all empty and good just laws are obeyed
And the birds and the trees and the happy peeps
Drink from clear fresh springs and breathe air that's free
In the Democratic Mountains
In the Democratic Mountains all the Pubs are downsized
And fair markets rule the day and jobs go to deserving guys
The farmers get a helping hand and aren't oversubsidized
Oh, I'm bound to go where there ain't no mo'
Wingnuts on crack about to attack
In the Democratic Mountains
In the Democratic Mountains you never need for locks
Nor shotguns, pistols, or guard dogs nor wars in far Iraq
The Congress recalls who its serves and the President's no fool
There's a world of work and high hopes, too
Room for you and me to be me and you
In the Democratic Mountains
In the Democratic Mountains the people rule the land
And the laws that they promulgate are honored to a man
There ain't no second-guessing courts, no calls to break the law
So I mean to stay where I'm free all day
Where no wingnuts lurk `cause rule of law works
In the Democratic Mountains
I'll see you all now standing tall in the Democratic Mountains
Okay, then. Let's get to steppin'. :)
