I'm looking for something that I saw here on Dkos this week, but have been unable to locate again.
I know that the casualty numbers in that the DOD releases for the Iraq war are only counting those that died of enemy action, and not other causes. I also remember seeing something that the figure only includes the servicemen who actually died within the physical borders of Iraq, therefore soldiers who died in Landstuhl or en route were not counted- and that this total was closer to 6,000.
Anybody here remember this and point me in the appropriate direction?
