FINALLY the media are starting to circle, first at the editorial level, then in that delicious WH briefing posted on the last Open Thread, and now with this WaPo article actually exploring the AWOL issue without sneering

Paleocons are FINALLY wingeing about W's profligacy and mendacity re the Medicare budget bill
In the UK, Tony Blair commissions a whitewash, and STILL loses out.
And most of all, the premise that Bush is doing his best for the country (as opposed for himself) is coming into question whenever the mainstream media discusses the 9/11 commission and Bush's proposed handpicked WMD Whitewash Commission - reporting after the election.
Bush is still refusing to attack Tenet - even when attacking him would be the obvious tack - hence Tenet knows where the bodies are buried, and will provide the treasure map if attacked.
I see what I have long been predicting - a series of positive feedback loops setting up between a mess of related Bush scandals, a willingness of Dems to discuss them, a willingness of the media to report those discussions, falling polls, enhancing all of the above etc.
Even Janet's boob fails to derail the accelerating downfall of the House of W....
Unitil now, it's just been theory.
