When the Secretary of Education calls the nation's largest teacher's union
"a terrorist organization" because of their opposition to his policies, that's playing the terror card.
When one of the president's closest advisers insinuates that pro-choice people have similar values to those held by terrorists, that's playing the terror card.
When members of Congress use the specter of terrorism to target migrant workers and their families, that's playing the terror card.
We all know that this administration is willing to use the threat of another terrorist attack on American soil to keep the citizenry in a compliant state of fear. As Randi Rhoades puts it, their unspoken campaign slogan is "Vote for me or you will DIE!!"
A few organizations and people have put in the effort to catalog the vast array of hypocritical flip-flops by President Bush. What we need now is a catalog of instances where Bush, members of his Cabinet, or GOP lawmakers have played the terror card to sway public opinion on matters unrelated or only peripherally related to terrorism.
