San Francisco Bay Area Kossacks Gathering

Our next gathering is going to be on Sunday, June 5th, 3 p.m.

The location is Central Park in San Mateo, the park not the restaurant (El Camino & 5th.)  

It is 4 blks from the train station.  

Kidlets welcome.

Kossacks are driving down from Marin ( SallyCat ) and up from Silicon Valley ( Cali Scribe, highacidity and perhaps her famous husband, ukiyo )  Many others have RSVP'd YES. like toastman and jonathan94002 . I don't know the Dkos screen names of the rest but they can post below.

The meeting locations will rotate around the Bay Area.  The last one was in the City and before that the East Bay.  This will be the first one on the Peninsula.  We may even venture up into the beautiful Wine Country one day! I'd vote for that!

The East Bay Kossacks have had several successful meetings in the past, including one where Kos showed up. I can't find the links to those diaries so tuffy if you're out there please post 'em.

I created a yahoo group because the Kerry Meetup webpage is going to start charging for usage and today I visited the site and the East Bay Kossack group is closed unless someone steps up as organizer.  

I welcome all East Bayers to join our group.  
It would be great to meet you all.

          I was on the old list, but could never go to a meet-up.  The park is an awesome idea.  I will try and come, and if I do, I will probably bring my 11 year old daughter.

            The weekend park thing has received very positive response and we can do at a park in the East Bay at some point, maybe next meeting.

            Since it's a little later in the day those that want to do the "have a beer" thing can walk a few blocks with me at say 6pm or so and we can continue rubbing elbows and ranting about global warming.

    Hey, I fell asleep in front of the tv aproximately 10:55 waiting for the news at 11.  I woke up at 11:15 and didn't see anything about Downingstreetmemo.com. Did your husband's interview make the cut?  If it did I am sorry I missed it.  Hope you made a copy.

      It not only made the cut, the whole report ran about three minutes... which was longer than I had expected. It was pretty fair, but the anchor's comment afterwords was incorrect... Bob called them right away, they checked her script and said she screwed up.

      "...he British government has argued with the authenticity of the memo..." should have been "hasn't"... kind of changes the meaning, yes? We are waiting to see how they will correct it.

      We will figure out how to provide a copy for everyone's viewing pleasure. They used many screen shots of the site, in effective ways. It was weird to see my work on television...

  I will be with all of you East Bay'ers in spirit, but I will be visiting my little sis in SC for a family meet-up.  (Did I mention that they are on a military base in a red state and they are, well, we're still wondering what went wrong with the republican thing?  Oy...this will be a long visit...)
  I will be joining the yahoo group later today, but I'd like to throw out an invite to have a meeting up here in Napa.  We're not in the lovely grape vines, but in fact Old Town Napa, were we can eat and visit and take a stroll?  As always, kids are more than welcome, but I may not give them back.  Empty nest syndrome with no grandkids on the horizon...

    There are numerous scenic places to meet in Napa Valley.

    Thanks for signing up at yahoo and I promise we will have a gathering in Napa Valley soon.  It is one of my favorite places on earth.

        It's a cute little town. There is, apparently, some bizarre city council members, but I haven't had the time to go to the meetings.
        Half Moon Bay would be pretty darn cool as well. But, Belmont is nicely located to be able to work in San Jose and play in SF or go visit mom in the East Bay.
        And, a trip up to Napa is pretty short as well!

        Bad date. Finals, My brother coming back from college same weekend, the grand after-finals partying in the works. (I didn't mention thats why I'll be tired) My parents aren't the problem: I have really cool parents, they'd be fine with it. But I will definitely sign up for the e-mail list. And to all the organizers, thank you for doing this. Even though I can't make it, I'm sure I'll make it to one some time.

    Can you take Muni to the train station at 4th and Brannan?  The train station in San Mateo is 4 blks. from the park.
