The obligation of reporting is to tell and tell and tell of the deaths and great injuries of young Americans sent to die by old draft dodgers in Washington.
It's easy to forget there's a war on when only the families of soldiers are sacrificing. When it's all hidden from most Americans because there's scant coverage of the dead and maimed on the news, coffins are cloaked in darkness, taxes are lowered, there's no draft.
The only reminder is that insipid, cheerful yellow ribbon.
As Breslin notes,
Bush is a cheerleader for any war that can be fought by somebody else's kids
