And it's one, two, three, what are we fighting for?

Some things never change...

Come on all of you big strong men
Uncle Sam needs your help again
he's got himself in a terrible jam
way down yonder in Viet Nam so
put down your books and pick up a gun we're
gonna have a whole lotta fun

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Army missed its April recruiting goal by a whopping 42 percent and the Army Reserve fell short by 37 percent, officials said on Tuesday, showing the depth of the military's wartime recruiting woes. link

Follow the bouncing ball, folks!!!

Come on generals, let's move fast
your big chance has come at last
now you can go out and get those reds
cos the only good commie is the one that's dead and
you know that peace can only be won when we've
blown 'em all to kingdom come

No one could have conceivably imagined suicide bombers burrowing into our society and then emerging all in the same day to fly their aircraft - fly U.S. aircraft into buildings full of innocent people - and show no remorse.  This is a new kind of  -- a new kind of evil.  And we understand.  And the American people are beginning to understand.  This crusade, this war on terrorism is going to take a while. -- George Bush

Come on wall street don't be slow
why man this war is a go-go
there's plenty good money to be made by
supplying the army with the tools of its trade
let's hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
they drop it on the Viet Cong

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. oil services giant Halliburton Co. may have overcharged by at least $212 million to get fuel to Iraqi civilians under a no-bid deal with the U.S. military, said Pentagon audits released on Monday. link

Come on mothers throughout the land
pack your boys off to Viet Nam
come on fathers don't hesitate
send your sons off before it's too late
and you can be the first ones on your block
to have your boy come home in a box

Associated Press -- The Pentagon, under pressure from open-government advocates, released hundreds of images Thursday of flag-draped coffins of American soldiers.

The Pentagon had previously refused to release such images, which were taken by military photographers. Nor has it allowed the news media to photograph ceremonies of soldiers' coffins arriving in the United States, saying it is enforcing a policy installed in 1991 to respect the privacy of families of dead soldiers. link

Come on, everyone! Sing it with me!!!

And it's one, two, three, what are we fighting for
don't ask me I don't give a damn, next stop is Viet Nam
And it's five, six, seven, open up the pearly gates
ain't no time to wonder why, whoopee we're all gonna die

STOP THE WAR
STOP THE WAR
STOP THE WAR

And, hey, remember -- don't eat the brown acid.

  •  oh YES!!!!! (none / 1)

that and more are the songs we do remember saddly.   I got a hoot out of Country Joe's tunes.  When you hear Jimi Hendrick's guitar sing out the sadness of his sadness at woodstock, it all says it all.  Remember?

Why do you think we are all sad, helpless, etc?

Why can't the people simple see the truth in all of this?

I think they have the blinders on so that they do not have to admit they know the truth.  It is easier to not see rather than see and admit the truth in matters.

See, it is so simple for them..it is so hard for us to see the truth and not be able to do anything about it.  This is why we all cry out to be heard.

Someday, and I think it is coming soon, we alll will be crying for the wrong that has been done, ONCE AGAIN!

WAR, what is good for?  Ask yourself this question on a daily basis and demand answers, not only from yourself, but from others.

If you have someone who is in a flag draped cofin and you want answers, you deserve the respect of getting answers.

It took all those years and a draft to create the right medium for the antiwar group to grow.  They thought it would take much longer if they didn't show all that to the public so they would remain ignorant of facts.  It is not the real images, it is the real humanity that is the medium of all of human misery/sadness.

We all had the fact before this war broke out and they just wouldnt listen to the minds of sanity.  They just had to have their war for many reasons.  I shudder to even start to count the reasons.

The likes of Gen. Franks and his group of mind thought that just had to have their war to put into practice all that they have practiced for.  See, a lot of these men with rank are young and they needed to learn the mechinisms of war and how it really works.  They needed this to confirm their worth as rank.  I think those who have been in war, knew this was wrong.  The Chicken Hawks do nto know for they are cowards and didn't give a damn.  Look at the age of the ppl now who are fighting the war.  From 18 to 68!!!!!  It is not common sense here it is shear madness!   These old men in civilian suits do not have a clue on what they have done or doing!!!! plain and simple...better yet, they do not CARE eitther!!!!!

I suggest we all gather together and fight this evil we now have in our administration.  Start speaking the truth on a daily basis to others.  Do not hold your breath.  Keep the reteric on the truth....

when it comes to war with another country, I think the ones responsible fail to read the history of said country to find out the claiber of the ppl they are fighting.  If they did, they might think twice about all that they are doing.  This just shows to me their ignorance in such bodies of power.  I include democrats and republicans both along side on this matter.  They forgot to check out the history.  This will always be their negitives, their lack of common sense.

Actually, if you read this week's New Yorker, there's an interview with Douglas Feith.

Turns out, he's a real history buff. Most interested in reading about the British era of occupation in the Arab world.

Apparently, he didn't learn a thing.
