Action Alert! We've got Dean's back (pt. 2)

Some of you may have read my diary that I posted last Wednesday calling for a "We've got Dean's back" campaign.  In summary, my goal is to get the media and the fat cats in Washington to think twice before they start throwing insults at Howard Dean.  I set up a "Let's get Dean's back" donations page on the DNC website.  So far, there have been 111 donors and $2,831.36 collected since Wednesday.  

From my previous diary:

1. We need to choose a day of the week where we all make contributions to the website.  I was thinking Friday because that is usually a day when most people receive their paycheck.  I think it's symbolic because most people live off of their paycheck and have to work for it.    

2. Make a contribution on that Friday if Dean get's attacked by the media, Republicans or people that are democratic in name only (eg. Joe Lieberman, Joe Biden, etc.).  I can write up a summary diary every Friday on Booman Tribune and cross-post it to the Daily Kos of the attacks that were made.   (another idea is to make it the 15th  and 30th of each month)

3. Have everybody contribute a small dollar amount with a penny.  I suggested 5.01 or 10.01 but found out that the DNC only accepts a minimum contribution of 10.00.  

4. If any station airs the Dean Scream, we can do one or two things: a. either make an immediate contribution of 10.01 or make a contribution of 30.01 on Friday.

I have posted this on Booman Tribune and MyDD.   It was also posted on DU and the response has been overwhelming.  

(update) I originally requested the donations to go to the DNC donations page I created last Wednesday but I think it would be better if we sent our contributions to ActBlue's We've got Dean's back page. I think Dean will have more control on how the money is spent and it will benefit the 50 State Strategy Campaign. Please make a contribution toWe've got Dean's back because Howard Dean needs our support now more than ever. I don't think we can afford to lose another minute. I look forward to hearing your input and need your help in getting this campaign setup with Booman Tribune, Daily Kos, MyDD, DU, Atrios, etc.

    I checked the other day and the account was dormant.  Actblue told me that would bring it back up but didn't know they had already done it.  THANK YOU and as I said below, I will update my diary and use this link.  I think it's the best way to go.

  •  They told me that it has since gone dormant

    but they were willing to put it up again.  I just checked and not only is it back up but they have received 2372 donors and $110,768.82.

  Add it to the total.  Sent a message to the DNC that the contribution was specifically because of Howard, too, and that if he's muzzled they wouldn't see any more of my money.
