The other night on FrontLine and Now there was a discussion about China, the internet, and American corporate culture. They brought out the obvious contradiction between the Communist censorship and the sell out of Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, and Cisco (just to name the internet connected... not to forget WalMart, Auto, big Oil, etc)
An articulate Chinese academic in California, I do not know her name or university (Berkley?), who made a very good argument that if the Corporate Culture does not resist the Chinese oppression and censorship now, that mentality will seep into the Corporate ethic and the world will be lost for decades to come.

This alliance between Corporations and China is taking on a life of it's own.
As the two comic students who ran for President and Vice President of the student body at the University of Texas Austin in 1970 or 1971 said in their campaign promises: "We will change the inscription on the front of the Main Library tower from "The Truth Shall Make You Free" to "Money Talks."
