Nader claims best record on gay rights issues
According to Nader spokesperson Kevin Zeese, Nader "supports equal rights for gays and lesbians," including gay marriage. Additionally, he opposes a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage and would overturn the military ban on gay service members serving openly. Also, Nader supports the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and adding sexual orientation to the federal hate crimes law.
Many gay Democrats cringed when they learned early this year that Nader would be running for president since many believe he siphoned off votes from former Vice President Al Gore in 2000. Nader has always maintained that Gore was simply a weak candidate.

Howard Dean praises Kerry as pro-gay candidate
Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean praised his former rival, John Kerry, while slamming President George Bush's support for a constitutional amendment that would outlaw civil marriage for same-sex couples. Giving his first gay-media interview since withdrawing from the presidential race on satellite radio service Sirius OutQ's John McMullen Show, Dean said there's no doubt that Senator Kerry is a better candidate for gay and lesbian Americans than the president.
"[Kerry] is less inclined, for example, to have a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage," Dean said. "That's not the federal government's business, and what that really is--President Bush knows that's not going to pass. What it really is, is a thinly veiled appeal to people's bigotry about gay and lesbian people, and I think that's unnecessary, and I think John Kerry won't do that."

So Nader wants the gay vote, I guess Nader is going to tell us that him getting the gay vote won't hurt Kerry since it would split 50/50 dem/rep anyway.
And, it really seems like Dean has been out there to stop Nader at every turn he makes.
