Toronto DKos meetup?

Fri Jul 15, 2005 at 10:59:58 AM PDT

Hello Kossacks out there in the Toronto area.
Is the thought of hockey cooling you off in this heatwave?
Is the turd blossom schadenfreude filling your day with pure Canuck hoser happiness?
Are you an American expat who's looking for a progressive friendly crowd?
Are you looking for an excuse to sample some fine cold Canadian potent potables to escape the heat?

May I suggest a DKos meet up in Toronto.

More below the bump

First of all, I'd love to know who out there in the land o' Kos is from the GTA.  We'll even open the invitation to denziens of the east shores of Lake Erie & the south shore of Lake Ontario.  Is it something you'd be interested in attending?  How do your schedules look?

Secondly - we need to determine a date to meet up.  Remember that the August holiday weekend is early this year since the 1st falls on a Monday.

Thirdly - we need to determine a location for us to meet at.  I would suggest something subway/streetcar friendly, and not so far from Union Station, to allow easy access for those who use GO.
Perhaps the Black Bull on Queen St. West?

So I look forward to hearing from you and look forward to meeting at the first (of many) Toronto DKos meetup.

  •  Ottawa Kossack here (none / 0)

I do travel to T.O. quite a bit.
  •  GTA is not the centre of the universe (none / 0)

the rest of Canada does exist, you know
    •  I know (none / 0)

I'm a transplanted westerner.  I find it funny that some na(t)ive Torontonians think that anything beyond Sudbury (or north of the 49th) is in another galaxy.

I'm following the lead of those who had great meetups (Seattle, LA, Austin, apologies for those I missed) I decided to have one where I live.

So feel free to have a DKos meetup in your neck of the woods.  If it's close enough, I might even think of joining.

  •  Boston Kossack here, but born and (none / 0)

raised in Toronto. So you're thinking of having it on Civic Holiday, eh? The stat holiday that has no name.

I was planning to go up to Toronto near the beginning of August to see my parents. I don't know if it can be that weekend, but would you like a guest?

    •  We could have it on a holiday (none / 0)

I only noted the holiday that so people remembered when trying to plan.

It's the holiday with different names wherever you go across the country.

      Guests are absolutely welcome.
