There have been several diaries here the past week detailing with meticule the orchestrated "Swift Boating" of Markos and the majority of us in here by the pro-Lieberman DLC and their lackeys in the blogosphere and in the MSM.
Jason Zengerle and Mickey Kaus have been thoroughly eviscerated by several high-impact bloggers. Media Matters has eviscerated David Broder. But, I'm not yet comfortable with the "job" being done on the DLC.
There are Kossacks who want to believe the DLC is a committed "Democratic" organization, in terms of the Democratic Party or even the values of "Democracy." This isn't the case, and anyone can come to understand this in 10 minutes time, scheduled below the fold:
First 2 minutes- understand the DLC's non-progressive views on war and Islam:
Go to the DLC website and see emblazoned on their homepage the DLC's position on the Iraq War as articulated by the WaPo's Jackson Diehl:
Though you'd never know it from surfing the Internet, there exists in the Democratic Party a substantial body of politicians and policymakers who believe the U.S. mission in Iraq must be sustained until it succeeds; who want to intensify American attempts to spread democracy in the greater Middle East; and who think that the Army needs to be expanded to fight a long war against Islamic extremism.
Not even the Republicans have articulated this militaristic an approach. The DLC wants to "intensify" our efforts in Iraq and wants to "expand" the size of the Army.
Next 1 minute- the DLC will wear any mask:
Who is Will Marshall, author of this policy? Clicking, you see he's the head of the DLC's "Progressive Policy Institute." So, the DLC claims the policy of expanded and intensified warmongering in the Middle East is the "progressive" one? The DLC are shameless charlatains.
Next 6 minutes- the DLC doesn't care about the Constitution:
Try to find any DLC figure who has made any comment in the past few days in support of the New York Times publishing the fact that financial transactions were being monitored in the War on Terror. Everyone on the Right has weighed in at least once.
Last 1 minute: it's all about their own money and power, not "Democracy":
Consider, again, the repeated bizarre representations by DLC acolytes that it is somehow "fascist" for someone to challenge Joe Lieberman in the primary.
