BREAKING: Cindy's going home asap

Thu Aug 18, 2005 at 02:30:26 PM PDT

CNN just now showed tape of a Cindy Sheehan news conference. She said her mother has had a stroke and she is heading home to be with her.

Cindy said, in the brief clip, that the camp would continue as other Gold Star Mothers were there.

Pray for her.  And keep the strength flowing to Camp Casey.

And may Camp Casey continue to flourish as like minded individuals continue the vigil.

    •  Here's hoping that another Gold Star mother... (4.00 / 2)

...decides to spell her...and when she lays down her candle...a third...and then a fourth.

These women have given our nation the ultimate sacrifice, and they, more than any amongst us, should remain at the center of the building wave.

  •  oh no (none / 1)

I'm so sorry to hear this.  Poor Cindy Sheehan has had far too many troubles in her life.  I hope her mother recovers and that Camp Casey will go on.

  •  I'm sure that Michelle Malkin (4.00 / 2)

and her sleezy ilk will now condemn Cindy for giving her mother a stroke.

  •  many.. (4.00 / 2)

many many prayers for cindy sheehan and her mother tonight.. with love to her and her family from her grateful friends here in new york city.
  •  Confirmed (4.00 / 3)

Buddy Spell, Cindy's lawyer in Crawford, just confirmed this with Randi.

There was also something about Buddy's wife being threatened by some fascist with a gun. The SS arrested the sh*thead.

Guns don't kill people, republicans do.

  •  Mothers... (4.00 / 3)

    (posted elsewhere...)

Maybe one of the other mothers in the group should step up and take the reins.

It presents a united front and provides maternal message continuity.

  •  Again, Bush benefits from tragedy (none / 1)

I think it is truly freaky how tragedies, both personal and world scale, have been the best things to happen to Bush.

Where would the Bush presidency have been without 9-11?  Over in four years.  Other people's tragedies are his good luck.

    •  He doesn't have to... (4.00 / 5)

The campers stay put. Don't go anywhere.

Then you very very quickly have someone else take up the reins. "X will be taking Cindy's place in the wall."

X is also a parent who has lost a son/daughter and has the very same questions that Cindy continues to have. Even as one of us falls by the side to breathe and take care of pressing family needs...another parent takes her place.

It doesn't change a thing...but it does give them something to think about. More parents, family members are taking her place...

      One goes...ten more enter...

  •  This (4.00 / 2)

This unfortunate event will be used by the extreme right wing christian movement. They will say their god did this because he was upset with Cindy and the trouble her actions are causing the vacationing president, his beloved son in earth.
  •  Take care, Cindy (none / 1)

My best wishes that your mother will be fine & have a full recovery.

The other GS Family members will keep Camp Casey going.

  •  god didn`t do it (none / 0)

but the sress of the attention her daughter was getting probably didn`t help.if god was mad he`d give cindy a stroke! seriously this is bad timing for sure.
  •  Just a few words of support (none / 0)

We wish your mother the speediest of recoveries. God bless you both.
  •  Well.... (none / 1)

Let's pray that her mother recovers.

Think about this for a minute.

In the last 15 months, her son has been killed, she's getting divorced and now, this.

People I know like to say "God does not give you more than you can bear", but some days, you wish he'd stop trying so hard.

    •  maxomai's disaster theory (none / 0)

God doesn't give you more than you can bear.

God has no say in the matter at all.

It's what we choose to do in the face of all the shit life throws at us that makes us extraordinary. Cindy took her pain and made it an instrument of peace. That doesn't take extraordinary capability; it just takes making an extraordinary choice. We don't need more extraordinary people, we just need to make more extraordinary choices.

is a valid reason to step aside and let someone else represent you. What is George's reason?
