I agree with Michelle Malkin about something. I think I might be going to hell.
This diary will also ask you to compare breastfeeding with feminism. I will never breastfeed anything (I don't have boobs), and I don't consider myself a feminist, so I am curious as to what Kossacks think about this, as I am sure there are plenty of people here who satisfy one or both of those categories.
Michelle Malkin is a conservative pundit and occasional FoxNews host who's latest book argues that Japanese internment in WW2 was justified, necessary and backed up by solid intelligence. Thus you can see why I am a little disturbed that I agree with
one of her articles, but I suppose even a broken clock is right twice a day. Anyways, apparantly Barbara Walters was on an airplane and had to sit next to a mother who was breastfeeding her baby. This made Barbara Walters feel very uncomfortable, because Walters thinks breastfeeding is weird. (Malkin originally said that Walters used the words "gross and disgusting", although apparantly this was just another one of her factual errors.) Walters and her co-hosts then apparantly blabbered on about how gross breastfeeding is on their show "The View", which both Malkin and I agree is worthless drivel. In response, 200
"lactivists" sat in at the View's studios and breastfed their children. Go lactivists! Best pun ever!
In addition to the fact that breastfeeding is healthier than bottle-feeding, it's also more normal, cheaper, and helps cement a mother-baby bond. But I find it strange that the LA Times said that the lactivists were feminists. That article goes on to say how feminists were working for more women in the workforce - how do Kossacks reconcile that with spending more time on maternity leave? Also, is modern day feminism still about creating a more representative workforce, or is it more about giving women the freedom to reject working?
