The Terrorist Surveillance Act of 2006 hast just been introduced by a bunch of Republicans who clearly believe it's A-OK for the President to break the law.
My initial reaction was similar to that of georgia10. But on further thought, something occurred to me: While the actions of the President sure as hell aren't going to make it to court with these guys in charge, a law sure can. And this proposed law sounds about as unconstitutional as they get to me. So maybe, if it passes, this law is a bit of a gift to us: It gives us a way to indirectly challenge the legality of this NSA spying program.
I'm not a lawyer, of course, but maybe this can help us? Am I nuts?
