BBC: Someone Senior Should Monitor TV

Tue Sep 06, 2005 at 04:24:15 PM PDT

This from the BBC:

...the failure at the Convention Center would have been fairly easy to put right. Reporters drove there without problems. One took a taxi.

What, one wonders, was Fema/the mayor's office/the governor's office doing while all that was played out on live TV?

One lesson agencies might want to learn is that someone senior should do nothing but monitor TV.

Amazing as it sounds, I would feel that my tax money was better spent if they were to institute this policy right away (at least until We the American People learn how to get better control of our hiring process)

What other new policies and jobs should be instituted right away?

Every other government agency is overseen by the Department of Anti-Stupidity whose job it is to hit anyone on the head who says something stupid until they stop saying stupid things.

Bush might get quite a lump.

That way all those stooges can't kill anyone. Michael Chertoff is the secretary..and his right hand man is Brownie.

I forsee the DPP doing such things as providing us with definitions for such quotes as..kissing ass, sucking up, its not who you know but who you nose, legal definitions for such terms is he a son-of -a bitch, imbecile, "have and have mores."; when hell freeze's over.  They will fund such experiments to determine if pigs can fly and if there is any intelligence behind intelligent design and how that relates to no child left behind.

The DPP motto will be.."Were here at DPP because Hurrican Katrina taught us croynism kills Americans."

        Are my taxes illegal too?

I really think they dont get it. This has been story 1 with the networks and blogesphere for a week. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands affected, who are in fact witnesses to the whole debacle. I think the rethugs thought that since so many pay so little attention to what goes on they thought everyone was at the cottage or watching womens tennis. Not this time. Those guys(and their spinners)were too slow and everyone SAW it. Blame who they want. That pig wont fly this time.

If the media in west bugfuck makes the slightest hint that dear leader is not the benison of god pouring down upon the world, they are on the horn in 20 seconds threatening to nuke the fucking editor's house.

Fortunately, all they could see was a lot of coons  and poor umm, whaddyacallem, people, getting drowned and starved and dehydrated, now where is the urgency in that?

Huh? tell me huh? I mean I really, like, y'know, really, want to know.

...all the guys in the Tom Clancy books were always glued to CNN.

These days, maybe they'd be watching CNN/I, Al-Jazeera, a raw BBC feed, and maybe Fox News.
