The recently released Harris poll has already been discussed several times. However, I'll post the numbers again:
34% support
31% oppose
34% unsure
If he supports overturning Roe v. Wade (which he does, but the public doesn't really know)
70% oppose

If we want to stop ScAlito from being confirmed, we need to harp on the fact that ScAlito is OUTSIDE THE MAINSTREAM. Maybe I'm not watching enough tv, but the only commercials I have seen have not really delved into his anti-choice extremist stance. We need to realize that a MAJORITY OF AMERICAN CITIZENS support choice. We need to hammer this home. Also, a rebuttal to the "up or down vote" crowd: why did you pressure Bush to withdraw Harriet Miers?" We did not get an up or down vote on her. Also, for Senators in the Democratic side of our asile who are nervous about whether or not to support ScAlito: if you already voted for Roberts or said nice things about Miers, or were part of the Gang of 14, then you should not worry about voting for ScAlito. They cannot paint you as an "obstructionist" when you supported some of the President's nominees or try to work for the legislative compromise (as much I as disapprove of Roberts, his placement on the court does not change the balance of power, so I was not too upset when some of our Senators voted for him. If they vote for Alito I will be pissed.)
