I noticed this
post by Chris over at MyDD:
Oh, this is so exciting! Thank you all so much!
As of 2:53pm, 136 of you guys had raised $6629 for the poll. While we need to raise $16K for the entire project, we only need $7500 in order to start the phone calls. That means we are only $871 away from putting the poll in the field.
As soon as we have the $7500, we will send the money to Joel Wright. After that we can start the poll as early as this weekend, and as late as Tuesday.
We are almost halfway there. I have seen the final questionnaire--and it is really exciting stuff. I should be able to give you guys a look soon.
So I wanted to find out more, and it is really interesting stuff:

Hello everybody,
I'm Joel Wright and I'm your pollster/researcher. I want to personally thank Chris and MyDD, Scott, Matt, et al, for bringing me on board. This project is a big step for the site and I am honored to be a part of it.
But most of all, I am so proud to be working for you, the MyDD Community. My promise to you is: we will do this right and the data and findings will be spot on accurate. That means solid scientific method, measurement and unbiased analysis. That is what I do.
Like the original Sun Tzu, I believe victory is most likely when the battlefield is clearly, and dispassionately, understood by those with the will to win. Only then can we build and execute successful strategy and tactics. Only then can we win.
Matt Stoller fills us in on some more details:
Here's what you'll be paying for. A full poll costs around $16000 at the low end, for a sample size of 1000. That's $16/interview, and Joel Wright has promised us the analysis at no extra cost.
If you can, give $50 or $100.
We need to get to $16000 total to get this done. The party tends to waste a lot of its money on needless strategizing and insider-polling. This money by contrast won't be waste. What you're paying for is raw information that we can use to persuade Democratic candidates to act more aggressively. We'll all learn how to do this well, and when election season comes around we'll know how to get this done quickly and effectively.
So sponsor an interview or three. It'll only cost you a few bucks. And unlike the money in 2004, this won't be wasted. You designed the questions, and you'll get the information.
