IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU FEEL IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR?
I remember Roberts. Did we have sufficient facts to know him? Wasn't most of his history blocked from our view or explained away because he worked for Justice? Good move for them and good cover. What could we do; filibuster a ghost opinion?
Didn't all of you say that the SCOTUS was the mother of all battles and the tipping point that could change us as a country forever? Well, duh, you were right.
It is the tipping point and on top of that we have the benefit of CJ Roberts' first decision; with the 6 to 3 MINORITY, and with NO WRITTEN OPINION for anyone to review.
Judge Alito?
Extraordinary circumstances?
You bet there are. We have the benefit of this Nominee's history. Did our party represent us well and make our objections to him clear to the country? Not even close. How can I state unequivocally that my objections were not represented? Read your email. Listen to your messages. Put more paper in the fax. We're gonna jam your phone lines tomorrow morning.
Tags are just search words in a blog but just read them. If you can't stand up to protect us from the Federalist Society; if you can't protect our constitution from the Unitary Executive theorists, and if you can't protect our right to the make the most personal of decisions and fight for our free choice to act on them without scrutiny, you are no better than your opposition no matter how you disguise yourselves.
I'm not Chicken Little; I'm worried that I can't count on you anymore to keep your promises and that you really believe that the SCOTUS, AT THIS EXTRAORDINARY TIME, is worth fighting for.
It's a tipping point. Have no doubt about that.
