I'm upset that more isn't being said about the absolutely blatant and unexplained hypocrisy on the part of Republicans in regards to Google's decision to do business with China.
I've ventured out into the dark recesses of the Republican blog punditry trying to find out how people like Michelle Malkin (and others) can justify supporting/defending WalMart (and their dealings with China) while at the same time getting insanely angry with Google for their recent hookup with China.
I can't say that I've been very sucessful with my probe. Out of the 20 or so right wing blogs at which I left comments challenging them to explain their support of WalMart/hatred of Google only one person took the time to respond.

Lawhawk, at
A Blog For All, responded in the typical fashion for Republicans who have been outed as hypocrites: they distance themselves from the controversy and they try to dazzle you with bullshit.
Here's the main thrust of his reply:
Google had the opportunity to tell the Chinese that they wouldn't give in and the net result wouldn't have hurt Google's bottom line. They're still experiencing tremendous growth and weren't reliant on China before making the deal.
WalMart, however, is seriously reliant on China and Chinese products. They're in a much better position to try and influence China to moderate its policies, but they're also in a bad position because they've apparently given in to Chinese demands. So it's up to shoppers back here in the US to decide whether to shop at WalMart or not.
Personally, I choose other stores to shop at - Target or Kohls over WalMart.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm glad Lawhawk took the time to respond, I just think his justification for the different prevailing attitudes is weak. He even admits that WalMart is "also in a bad position because they've apparently given in to Chinese demands."
"Apparently", my ass! They HAVE given into Chinese demands. Did you know the only unionized WalMarts are found in China? Yes, and they were allowed to be unionized because WalMart bowed to the demands of the Chinese Government. Sound familiar?
On a similar note, how many books on Tibet do you think are in China's WalMarts? How about the Holy Bible?
Yet, where was/is the outcry about this from the moral folk on the right? Where were the photoshop contests showing Sam Walton's face morphing into Karl Marx's?
That's right, they were no where to be found. And, to me, it's solid proof that most of these True Believer Conservative Pundits, while being very vocal, stand for absolutely nothing. They are frauds and charlatans who have sold their soul to a fax machine that spits out the latest round of talking points.
And they are so rabid as to not even check themselves before they make complete asses of themselves. As far as I can tell, not even one of these blowhards has stood up and said, "Hey, wait a minute... Then why are we being told to support businesses like WalMart?"
They are unprincipled people, plain and simple.
