I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that this was
Harry Reid's call (and not Nancy Pelosi or Howard Dean or someone else such as Joe Lieberman)
But the so-called "Democratic Response" Tuesday night to George Bush's parade of lies before the nation is indicative of just how totally incompetent and braindead the Democratic Party leadership still is.
Instead of putting up someone who would confront George Bush on his endless progression of lies, corruption, and offenses to the nation and the World on Tuesday night -- like
John Murtha,
Al Gore, or
John Kerry, etc., instead Harry Reid sends up the meeley-mouthed, balding
Tim Kaine to timidly lull everybody to sleep with 15 minutes of totally
forgettable mush (yawn).
Harry Reid is clearly too stupid to lead this Party.
At a time here when the failed residency of George Bush stands at 36-39% in the polls and the entire public is aligned against each one of his policies (including the War), and over 65% say the country is going in the wrong direction -- Reid apparently feels that in spite of this we can't be ever seen strongly criticizing George Bush on TV.
I guess if Bill O'Reilly says that the public is behind President Bush then that's good enough -- let's drop the public debate then.
The problem with the Democratic Party is that the most timid members are the ones that are selected for leadership positions.
You can never persuade or inspire or win over anyone with timidity ... ever.
It is time for John Murtha to take the reigns of leadership in this Party.
We need clarity of message.
Clarity of purpose.
Clarity of opposition.
And we need to use every opportunity to say so and do so with pride. This was a rare chance and an opportunity, just ahead of the 2006 elections, to totally slam Bush for the disaster, death, destruction, & corruption he has wrought on our nation and the World for the past 5 years.
Harry Reid failed the Party.
Harry Reid & Tim Kaine need to step aside and let those with something to say lead this Party!
