I fell into Paul's special orders talk live at approx. 7:30 PST and am still astounded at his expansive depiction of the false distribution of dollars to benefit the wealthy, amonting to counterfeiting money. He used the massive Abramamoff lobbying scam to demonstrate our fall into Rome's mistake at allowing its wealth to disintigrate leading to its fall. Same will happen to this country.
Paul emphasized the U.S. fight over use of the Euro by any country outside of Europe. He pointed out that Saddam was starting to use the Euro for his exchange in trade instead of the dollar; and this had a lot to do with the attack on Iraq, while noting this was not the only reason.
He then pointed to Venezuela's decision to use the Euro a year after new government in office, right after which Bush tried to overthrow the legitimate government claiming it was not democratic when the leader was voted in by the people. Iran he stated is using the Euro also, and this is important in U.S. stance against Iran.
Paul dissected the Bush administration leaving nothing but a useless skeleton. Spelled out the whole lead up to war with Iraq giving again all instances where Bush wanted to go into Iraq from 9/11 on just needing someone to come up with a reason.
Ron Paul laid out an agenda:
- Stop declaring wars
- Stop corporate welfare
- Give welfare to the poor in their present hopeless struggle
- Stop the Leave No Child Behind
- Stop the bloated insurance health care system which is run by the central government
- Reestablish the checks and balances of the federal government with Congress's equal power with President
There was a lot more which I can't remember. I hope someone recorded this.
This Republican congressman considered in the past a strong conservative has spoken out before. He is an extremely interesting and effective speaker.
DailyKos needs to pay more attention to C-Span and report. We're missing a lot of gems and many people do watch C-Span. I for one am fed up with the ubiquitous WaPo and CNN. More people may take in these two than C-Span, but many do not.
