Not that anyone will pay attention, but I just feel like getting this one out...Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking? The success of Daily Kos and other liberal blogs, the influence on primaries like Texas, the pressure to filibuster Alito, the potential to change the landscape this year and in 08...ALL are really genuinely exciting. They are exciting because we actually achieve some gains, but I wonder if anyone is feeling something I'm feeling...
This is it. We ratchet up and they ratchet up. There will indeed be a fierce response to any successes of the blogosphere. The war is eternal. The battles arrive and are fought every day, but the war will never end. In fact, we are just starting to try to catch up.
It's occuring to me that in what seems like an instant, the blogs and the netroots have become what will be a necessary component of democratic party successes into the forseeable future. I think it's fascinating, but it cannot be a flash in the pan. Indeed, I think it has already changed the landscape. I hope it will last and I hope that all of us that have been drawn into it stay forever, continue to fight and continue to work. Here's to the future - one in which the war never ends, but one in which we win more battles than we lose.
