Here's my take on Whittington's comments for his mini press meeting. When he referred to the incident that occurred "last Friday", I think he didn't mis-speak. I find it hard to believe that one would forget the day on which you were shot by the vice-president of the U.S. So what could be a likely scenario? Whittington actually is shot on Friday, not Saturday. The initial response is for Cheney's considerable travelling medical team to treat the victim. The hope is that this will avoid any release of the incident to the public. Everything seems to be going well...until Saturday when Whittington suffers a "minor heart attack" and atrial fibulation.
The Cheney team realizes that they now have to get Whiitington to a hospital. Thus they can no longer cover up the incident. But everything that happened is now moved forward by one day. Makes sense to me. Any comments?
