This really sucks. Why is Suozzi running for any reason other than abmition and ego? He implied in a NYTimes article in (early January?...I can't access archives so I don't know) that he wanted to run in 2006, because if he didn't and Spitzer got elected, then he may never have another chance to run. Go back to running Nassau and leave your ambition in LI.
He should explain to us why he wants to divide the party with a bitter primary, and ultimately bloody Spitzer, who is killing his potential GOP rivals in the polls. This is an example of a primary that should be avoided. I would personally support muscling out Suozzi if it came down to it, only because of his ties to Wall Street barons such as Kenneth Langnone. This is one example of a primary that I have blasted as being wasteful (the other example is the MD-Sen primary between Cardin and Mfume. Suozzi is just a more electable, not-so-corrupt version of Mfume, and all both of them will do will do is hurt Dems in general.)Looks like we will have a second egotist candidate in this race, after William Weld, who basically said that he was born to become NY Governor.
