In Nebraska we seem to have a big Republican wankfest going on. Every week on NPR, we hear about how much the Republicans vying for Govenor and Senate have raised. When it comes to Democratic numbers, we only hear about the incumbent Sen. Ben Nelson's numbers.
That made me wonder if there were any Dem congressional candidates running and raising money in my district (NE-01). Well I found her and her name is Maxine Moul, former Lt. Govenor of Nebraska.

I was surprised that I hadn't heard her fundraising numbers on the radio yet, so I was wondering...in this day and age, in the BIG RED state of Nebraska, what's a dem to do?
I find her approach interesting...here are her main issues (http://www.moulforcongress.com/...)
let's see.... health care, education, agriculture, and THE NATIONAL DEBIT? Something that in the past has not been a Democratic value, but in BIG RED Nebraska, is super appealing the rural values.
I also find it curious that the first line of her issues page starts, "I am running for Congress because our government has been kidnapped and we need to get it back." Her site continues to use this "beltway bandit" imagery, which I find refreshing, but will it work? Is it a good introduction to the voting populace?
Her opponent, should she make it to the primary, will be Con. Jeff Fortenberry (NE-01) (http://www.supportfort.com/). Last time he ran as a member of "Bush's Washington Team", and for "businessmen", and "Christian Family Values" like a broken record player.
My other question for you all, is if there is a way a canidate can get support from the left-wing blogs without being branded an extremist by the right? And if that question is no, what are some creative ways to use this new medium to get support (financial, word of mouth) from the vast left-wing infrastructure in BIG RED Nebraska?
