Lately many people have remarked on how Bushco has managed to have so many lies, scandals, deceptions, criminal incompetentcies, and endless corruptions as to render it all impossible to keep track of. With several new outrages every week, we start to forget the outrages of last week, last month, or last year, any of which individually would have shamed any other administration deeply, but with this adminstration rolls off like water on a duck's back.
In this way, I worry, is the true story about the worst administration in history - the story of how a gang of awful human beings lied their way to to power and ruined a country - destined to be lost?? Will its history be written by the same brand of sychophants that blabber on the MSM today, with a rose colored vision presented at an official presidential library somewhere in Texas?
That is why I think that we need to bring about the George W. Bush Un-Presidential Library, where the records of why this is the worst administration in history are preserved for posterity. More on the flip.
I am envisioning a repository of documents and records, and a giant museum, all dedicated to preserving for ourselves and future generations the truth about this terrible administration and our era. The story in the museum will be told through photographs, video clips, artifacts, newspaper articles, editorial cartoons, and so on. Some major themes:
- How they made a fake cowboy out of a New England aristocrat and marketed him
- Bush's early failings, including fraudulent national guard service, DUI convictions, male cheerleading, and running businesses into the ground
- Bush's rise to power and the 2000 campaign, including shenanigans such as the 'McCain has a black baby' South Carolina primary, the purging of voters in Florida, and how Gore actually won
- How a bad administration ruined America through out of control deficits, dismantling science, heckuva job cronyism, etc etc..
- Sept. 11, how they failed to prevent it, and then used it for unprecedented partisan gain
- The war in Iraq including faulty intelligence
- The story of the major players such as Dick 'the government doesn't make people rich unless it's me' Cheney and Karl 'turdblossom' Rove and what they're all about
- How the particular conditions of our era - flacid media, a population culturally divided, a right-wing echo chamber, and so on - allowed this all to come about
- How people resisted and opposed Bush, complete with songs, books, and movies from our era
- Scandals galore, including Plamegate, reporter-gate, arsenic-gate, Katrina-gate, NASA website-gate, Dubai-gate, energy task force-gate, NSA spy-gate, etc. etc. etc. etc....
and so so much more
See, it is all so hard to keep track of, we NEED a definitive record of it all. And we need it to be preserved so future generations can learn the truth about this terrible administration and these terrible people.
Obviously, such an institution would have to come about through private donations. Putting together and maintaining a museum and archive isn't cheap. But so many Americans are so virulently against this administration that the will might be out there.
Who is with me? Is this viable? Desirable?
On a final note, I was thinking of where this Un-Presidential library could go. One option would be to put it in the same place as the official Bush library, ie Waco or Lubbock. Another option would be Austin to get it in a busier place. A third choice would be Washington DC, for maximum exposure. But I think the most compelling choice would be to put this presidential library dedicated to telling the truth about GW Bush in his actual home - Connecticut. New Haven is itching for redevelopment projects and land is cheap, and it is right on the I-95 corridor.
My apologies if something like this has been diaried before. This is my first diary.
