Today, March 8, is International Women's Day. With just minutes left of it (in my time zone), I didn't want to let it get away without some mention of this occasion.
Here in Middle Tennessee there were no events planned to mark the day -- at least none that I'm aware of. But, around the world people celebrated International Women's Day. You can find information on the history of the day at this
United Nation's webpage.
To see how the day was celebrated around the world, check out International Women's Day 2006.
If your part of the globe, or your group, or just little ole you celebrated the day, please share it with us.
In recognition of the day, I raise my e-glass: Here's to smart women - may we know them, may we love them, may we raise them!!
Ladies, stay strong! Gentlemen, cherish your strong women!
P.S. Remember, March is Women's History Month. Please visit the National Women's History Project.
