Karl Rove, bless his heart, has some award-winning quotes in Bill Sammon's ass-kissing Bushfest book "Strategery." I haven't read it, cause my proctologist told me to avoid anything greasy. But
Drudge has posted some excerpts that I haven't seen on dKos. Really a double dose of doublethink here; first, Rove declares rightwing blogging to be "expert," based on the Rathergate story, which, as far as I am concerned is an unsettled question. Then he goes on to blast the blogosphere for, apparently, the other side of the political spectrum, or for the kinds of dirty tricks
Rove himself has become famous for.
Based on this material I have taken it upon myself to declare Rove the unchallenged winner of this year's Koufax award in the hypocrisy category.
Don't get the dry heaves folks, but you have to see it, below the jump.
"The whole incident in the fall of 2004 showed really the power of the 'blogosphere'...an army of self-appointed experts looking over the shoulder of the mainstream media and bringing to bear enormously sophisticated skills...
...Rove cautioned that the Internet's political potential has a darker side.
"There is so much ugliness and viciousness and fundamental untruths that the blogosphere transmits," he lamented. "It also is a vehicle for ugly rumors, for scurrilous personal attacks, an avenue for the creation of urban legends which are deeply corrosive of the political system and of people's faith in it."
Rove said Rather and his producer, Mary Mapes, were gunning for the president...."
Okay, I can't really go on, Karl "Dark Side" Rove is certainly the winner in this category. I think really he should be up for a Lifetime Achievement Award. Do they have those in the Koufax's? can we start one?
