Tonight's 60 Minutes ran a piece on the government's censoring of scientists concerning global warming. Thay spoke with James Hansen of NASA, one of the world's leading experts on climate change and discussed not just the state of the world climate, but also the government's attempts to hide the truth from the public. By the end of the story, they had managed to get around to who was in charge of the government's editing of their climate reports. They mentioned Phil Cooney and Exxon Mobil and even spoke of the Kyoto Treaty.
But in typical traditional media fashion, they are a day late and a dollar short. This part of the story was reported right here on DailyKos by yours truly almost a year ago.

Back in June, 2005, I posted a diary titled
Another Piece of the Puzzle Falls Into Place. I was lucky enough to have it make the Rec'd List. It covered almost everything that tonight's 60 Minutes report covered concerning Cooney, Exxon Mobil, and Kyoto plus a few extras.
So, how is it that a 35 yr old music teacher from Bumblefuck, IL, managed to get this information and put it together using only the internet and a blog almost a full year before one of our major news networks?
