How expensive does gas have to get before it seems a good trade to Joe Six-Pack and Soccer Mom to send someone else's kids to Iraq to secure the oilfields for our refineries so they dona't have to pay $5 a gallon for gas? And what the HELL is up with O'Reily and the Easter Bunny?
[Yes, these are related]
Figure it out. My little gas sipper [10 years old and 29 miles to the gallon] only takes 12 gallons or so to fill up. I usually don't wait that long because I want enough gas in the car to evacuate in case of flood, hurricane, eatrhquake or volcano. [The joys of the NW]
Average purchase is 10 gallons at a time. I am waiting with some anxiety for the $3/gal tag to hit this summer. I won't be going anywhere much, except to and from work, but that's about a tank a week. I regularly see folks spending twice what I pay at the pump to fill the behemouth mobile they are driving. I happened to wonder - how expensive does it have to get for them to say, "Fuck it! I need cheaper gas. Screw the ragheads - just kill them all and suck that sand dry!"
Is that what Bush & Co are waiting for? They're being helped along by BigOil profiteering quite well which also fills their campaign coffers with public spirited donations from the industry.
Then today I saw that O'Liely had gone on a new "war on Easter" tantrum. This is a great distraction from the levers and wheels being pulled and turned behind the curtains. It couldn't be better timed if it were planned.... Who needs air time for investigation or reportage on things that matter when you can burn up the airwaves with the phony concerns of this gas bag who wouldn't know a bunny that wasn't served up on on a plate if he was a carrot and got bit. Oh there's a thought, maybe he IS a talking carrot and harbors a phobia about small furry rodents with big gnashing teeth.
Bill, BIll, Bill... relax, you may think you're a carrrot, but that's unreasonable. Remember that carrrots are good for you and baby, you're good for nothing and nobody!
In defense of bunnies everywhere, just stay out of this. Let the discussions on oil, war and trading blood for oil continue without your petty distractions.
