With conservatives griping and compaining that the media is biased and only paints a negative picture of the war in Iraq, constantly brushing over the "positive news" (yeah, you explain that one, too), you would think that the release of Jill Carroll would be greeted with "flowers and candy" by conservatives parading in the streets.
Instead, when faced with an actual report of a freed hostage, how do they react? Well, why don't you take a look...
Case in point.
Friday, March 14th - Blonde Sagacity - Ungrateful Human Shields
After sourcing a site which stated, in part,
Remember Tom Fox? The "Human Shield" that was tortured and killed in Iraq? Well, the rest of the Pacifist Shields were rescued by coalition forces. Their families had all but given up hope --they have been hostages for four months.
But (of course there's a but), as Stop the ACLU is reporting, the released hostages are anything but grateful to the troops that rescued them. Though a thanks to the military rescuers was never mentioned once in any of the statements released they did make a point to blame the military for being captured in the first place...
"We believe the illegal occupation of Iraq by multinational forces is the root cause of the insecurity which led to this kidnapping and so much pain and suffering in Iraq today. The occupation must end." (source)
Then followed by this little piece,
Just so we aren't surprised at this reaction...let's remember what kind of people we are dealing with here by taking a look at more of the Zombie Protestor Hall of Shame. These are the "best" (really worst I guess) --as I looked through the photos here (<---example), I honestly couldn't believe that these people are Americans... that they could be my kid's teacher, my teller at the bank, or my hairdresser. Quite frankly it's chilling.
Hostages get released (good news) and they're quickly pounced on since the reason they went to Iraq in the first place is questionable. Fair enough, I suppose. I can understand the argument.
Now onto the next wingnut site.

You cannot help but have your heart turn to stone with all these helpful idiots running loose, afraid to truly be themselves in the face of the enemy, eg. man returning to his "partner"

First they find 3 ungrateful 'peace activists' sitting in an empty, unguarded house. Now jill caroll gets released unscathed after no one decides she is worth the ransom or demands.
Anyone else feel like they are getting punked? I'm starting to wonder if these kidnappings are part of an hoax/extortion scheme.

Ever since the lady from the Italian commie paper got that security guy killed in that "hostage" scam I've been suspicious of these things as actually being leftist extortion scams.

She will be spouting the same crap the peace activists that were released did. She will say they treated her well and they were kidnappers just in it for the money. They weren't the nice insurgents who are too busy fighting against the evil army of Bush to kidnap innocent people.

Looking into my crystal ball, I see a book deal in the near future. Also, she will fall in love with a nice Muslim man, convert (if she hasn't already done so), and have 3 or 4 children. Lastly, she will be a spokesperson for Islam for her local t.v. station.
That is all.

if that's the case, the MSM to keep their credibility must stop putting the word "journalist" in front of her name like they have been doing.
