I don't have a lot of time to write about this because I am hot on a deadline for a project, but this bears mention.
Yesterday 32 communities went to the polls in Wisconsin and 26 of them passed advisory referendums calling for US troop withdrawal from Iraq. The largest margins were in Madison and on the other side of the state in Shorewood where approval came from 70% of the voters.
If we could do this in our communities, you can too and this should spread across the country like wild fire.
Besides this being just a great idea from the get go, these referendums could do for progressive turnout what the "defense of marriage" referendums are expected to do for wingnuts.
We definitely crashed the gate yesterday all across the state. It's time the rest of the country catch the wave and do what Congress -- including Democrats -- are unable to do and that's call for a pullout from this stupid and horrendous mistake.
