For those of you in the Lansing area in the State of Michigan, here's your chance to hold
Daniel Okrent accountable.
He will be appearing, towmorrow, at Michigan State University to give a lecture entitled:
"Inside the Belly of the Whale: My 18 Months Watching the New York Times Deal with Political Polarization, Press Defensiveness and the Bleak Future of Newspapering."
Yay!
The lecture will take place between 4pm and 6pm at the
Kellog Center.
It is free.
Okrent, for those of you living in a cave for the past three years -- excluding Osama Bin Laden, of course, who seemns to know more about what's going on than Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice -- was the "public editor" of the New York Times during the whole Judy Miller fiasco.
I was hoping somebody, a blogger preferably, could attend the lecture, and ask a few pointed questions. Then they could blog about it and let us know what he said.
Even a Kos diarist would be helpful. I'd do it, but I can't make it there tomorrow.
Here is the Mapquest map to the Kellog Center.
Let me know how it goes!
