In addition to rape charges, the Durham Police are now investigating Duke lacrosse players for possibly committing conspiracy to commit murder. Apparently, one of Duke's lacrosse players sent an email a few hours after the alleged rape saying he planned to kill strippers the next evening. From North Carolina's
Herald's Sun
The e-mail allegedly sent by player Ryan McFadyen, said (the typographical errors are in the e-mail):
"To whom it may concern
"tommrow night, after tonights show, ive decided to have some strippers over to edens 2c. all are welcome.. however there will be no nudity. I plan on killing the bitches as soon as the walk in and proceding to cut their skin off..."
The e-mail was signed "41," which is McFadyen's jersey number.
Of course, the lawyer for one of the lacrosse players claims other emails found indicate the rape did not occur.
What I have not seen is action by Duke other than ending the lacrosse season and accepting the reservation of the lacrosse coach.
McFadyen has likely violated Duke's Acceptable Use Policy in a gross manner and would, to my mind, justify his explusion. How long will it take them to expel him?
