I thought my head was going to explode after hearing today's revelations regarding the Administration's lying about the existence of mobile bio labs. As it stands today, Bush & company have lied about Niger documents, security leaks, aluminum tubes, connections between al Qaeda and Iraq, and most recent mobile bio labs. Do they ever tell the truth? Are they this incompetent all the time? I know what you are saying. "Bill", you are saying, "haven't you been paying attention? Have you seen them get one thing right in six years?" Of course, I have to answer "Yes, I've been paying attention but I never thought they were this incompetent, this mendacious, this useless." In short, I erred on the side of hope. I had hoped they would gain some wisdom. I hoped that saner minds would prevail. I hoped that the media would keep them honest. I hoped that Congress would serve as a check. I hoped because I wanted my country to succeed. But, today was the final straw in what has become a pretty bowed camel.
But my God - and I do believe in God for those in the Defense Department that are monitoring this web site - is this Administration capable of doing anything right? What really scares me is that 35% to 40% of the population continues to support him, which simply perpetuates the bad decisions that turn into bad results. The problem with enabling someone is that bad decisions continue with ever increasing damaging consequences. Has anyone taken a look at Mr. Bush's past? It has been a path of failure followed by someone bailing him out and a subsequent promotion where he would do even greater damage. In short, he is the poster child for the Peter Principle. Which leads to the obvious question: How much more damage can he do in his Presidency? I fear the answer is simply that I fear for my Country and the World. It will take decades to fix the messes he has caused.
